Foster Care Orientation Info Meeting
There are currently 4,227 children in foster care in South Carolina and only 2,633 licensed foster families. These children need a temporary home while their birth families are working towards goals that prepare them to be reunified with their children. The need for licensed foster families is apparent in the disparate numbers of children needing placement and the number of available families to care for them. The lack of equipped and supported homes results in children being placed in overcrowded homes or in institutions where their unique needs cannot be met with excellence. The orientation class is located in Dorrity Hall at James Island Christian Church. Address & registration link below. Orientation is required to be eligible to participate in the class.Class Schedule: Begins Monday, January 29 and continues each Monday night through March 5. Classes will be held from 6:00-8:30 pm in Dorrity Hall. Childcare will be provided on site for orientation and all classes, from 6:00-8:30 p.m. For questions, contact Becca Renard at Becca.Renard@lifelinechild .org.
