This year I had the special treat of attending the Folly Jolly Christmas Spectacular at the Charleston Performing Arts Center (C-PAC) on Folly Road. I know some people are already making this a yearly tradition, and it’s true that I left ready to decorate my tree!
The show is loaded with talented dances and singers presenting a musical trip through holiday classics. For people who attend the C-PAC with any regularity, there are some familiar faces on stage including Savannah Schoenborn and Tiffany West. The ensemble of 9 actors work beautifully together to bring Christmas fun to this stage. They were all terrific, but I have to give special props to Kristen Olson, a New York based actor who attended Accademia dell’Arte and has toured throughout the country with Cirque Dreams. She blew me away.
The singalong with the audience at the end was especially lovely. If you’re having trouble getting into the Christmas mood, this should do the trick!
Check out their Directors’ interview on Lowcountry Live to learn more about the show. A Folly Jolly Christmas Spectacular runs December 1-22 with shows Wednesday-Sunday. Senior, Student, Military and Group discounts available.
This year’s show is family friendly, and kids age 4 and up are welcome (as long as they have a ticket!). And, new this year, Dinner and a Show ticket packages are available, as C-PAC has partnered with the always amazing Edison restaurant. Enjoy a great night out with a delicious three course dinner before the show. Learn more about this offer and download the menu here.
