Everyone knows that if the Great Pumpkin ever rises on Halloween night, he (it?) will be in the Bethany UMC Pumpkin Patch. It is clearly known as the “best” pumpkin patch on the Island.
For almost a decade, Bethany of James Island has received a truckload of choice pumpkins especially grown for United Methodist churches through a mission program with native Americans. This year, they are scheduled to arrive the morning of Saturday, October 7th, and go right on sale.
A great place for a family outing, because in addition to all size pumpkins, gourds, and other products, the Pumpkin Patch has great decorations for the children. Every year there are hundreds of squeals and grins as families and children scramble through the acre of goodies. It’s a great place for family photographs.
Priced by size, the pumpkins generate funds for the mission work of the church.
Open from 11 to 7, every day from October 7th to Halloween night, the Pumpkin Patch is located next to the Church and The Standard apartment complex at 1853 Maybank Highway.
