Our Pet Helper’s Pet of the Week is Olivia! This 4 year old mama is just as sweet as can be. She is a personal favorite of mine and is an extreme cuddle bug. One of the outstanding qualities that sets her apart from the rest is her adorable little smile.

Olivia is a bit timid in new environments so please be sure to go slow with her. She is not a fan of other dogs, but trust me, this big baby has enough love to fill the home on her own! Come meet Olivia today and I guarantee you will fall in love.

A Shuckin’ Good Time!
Folks at the Oyster Roast.
People enjoying the briny treats at the Oyster Roast.

Thank you to all who attended our Oyster Roast on Friday March 17th. We had a great time Shuckin Our Paws Off with all of you! It was a great turn out and an even better time because all of the proceeds benefit our animals. Dixie’s Medical Emergency Fund is such an important part of Pet Helpers and with your kind donations we are able to provide our animals the very best care. We are very grateful for our supportive community!

Volunteers, we need your help!

The Cooper River Bridge Run is coming up and Pet Helpers is the only animal shelter in Charleston chosen to benefit from this event. We are ecstatic to be chosen every year, but we need volunteers to sign up to help.

New Kits on the Block posterNo New Kits on the Block!

It is almost that time of year again when kittens seem to be falling out of the sky like rain. To help keep homeless kittens off the streets our Community Spay/Neuter Clinic is running a No New Kits on the Block special to the first 150 appointments made to spay female cats. Be sure to visit our website for details and qualifications for the special rate of $50 for a spay surgery.

With that being said, kitten and puppy season is around the corner and we are in need of foster parents. Foster parents allow our cats and dogs to receive the proper care and attention they deserve as they wait for adoption.

A lot of our puppies and kittens will still need to be bottle fed up to every four hours and this takes some heart and dedication. If you are interested in making a difference in the life of these tiny babies, please visit our website and fill out the Foster application.
